LPPC DSL BW 0442
Thundering westwards on Brunel’s superbly graded main line from Paddington one March morning in the mid-1970s, is a Brush Type 4 Class 47 on an express made up, unusually by this stage, entirely of Mark 1 rolling-stock. The train is the 10.05am 1B28 London to Birmingham via Worcester service. The location is just at the entrance to Sonning Cutting and, in the far background, can be seen Twyford station.
