On a sunny September 8th 1962, a series of photographs were taken at Doncaster station. The trains were severely disrupted by an accident the previous evening at Offord involving A1 60123 ‘H.A. Ivatt’.

 

LPIS STM BW NEGS 0134 Hull Dairycoates K3 61875 passes Doncaster with the 07:35 Hull to Whitemoor freight whilst an unidentified Peak waits to depart with 1A09 from York/Hull to King's Cross on 8th September 1962. The freight train was due through Doncaster at around 9:30am but is running around 30 minutes late. Many of the trains along the East Coast Main Line were disrupted this day due to an accident at Offord involving A1 60123 'H. A. Ivatt' and BR Eastern Region Control would have been working hard to balance the traffic through Cambridge.
