On a sunny September 8th 1962, a series of photographs were taken at Doncaster station. The trains were severely disrupted by an accident the previous evening at Offord involving A1 60123 ‘H.A. Ivatt’.

 

LPIS STM BW NEGS 0132 Gresley V2 60950 approaches Doncaster station from the south with what is believed to be the 07.05 Enfield - Scarborough on 8th Septemeber 1962. Trains were in chaos due to a derailment at Offord of A1 60123 'H. A. Ivatt'. The V2 had been ousted from King's Cross Top Shed at the start of the Summer 1962 timetable, and was withdrawn from Doncaster shed a little over a year after this photograph was taken on 22nd September 1963, and broken up at the Works on the 5th November the same year.
